MMR jag targets beaten

MORE Lothians children than ever are being immunised against measles, mumps and rubella.
Figures released yesterday showed more than 95 per cent of five-year-olds were being given the MMR jag, ahead of the Scottish Government target.
A drive to inoculate more kids is credited with adding to the rise, also higher than the national average.
Dr Lorna Willocks, NHS Lothian's immunisation co-ordinator, said the injections were essential for youngsters' health, and that it was important both stages of the jab were received. She said: "It is excellent so many parents have ensured their children will be protected."
